Knowledge and experience of the new employee:

The OPS Project Manager is responsible for an average of 3 to 5 parallel projects. He / she is the primary contact to the customer and mainly responsible for the delivery of the project in all its aspects to the customer. Monitoring and maintaining customer expectations towards the targeted delivery are herein of main focus. The OPS Project Manager will be serving in an overseeing position to be able to identify, together with the Executive Project Managers, which tasks are worthy of high priority in the scope of a project.

These need to be managed both in content and also in terms of planning, scope and budget in consultation with the executive project manager at the head office in Utrecht. The executive team at Utrecht acts as supplier and will deliver the ordered products and services to the team in Germany.

The OPS Project Manager should be capable to negotiate the desired expansion and associated commercial terms when scope extension is requested. Managing the customer and his expectations are most important in this effort. He/ she should also be capable of recognizing business opportunities and putting together Change Orders to win new business as well as negotiating and agreeing contracts.

The OPS Project Manager has the ability to build consensus across a team. He / she identifies and mitigates risks and may design strategies to improve current management practices, together with the Executive Project Manager. His / her responsibilities may involve analyzing prepared budgets, making suggestions on cost-cutting methods and sending periodic status reports.

The OPS Project Manager must have proven experience in project management and / or customer management. Although a specific education is not defined, a certification in IPMA, PMI or similar is preferred.

From his / her expertise He / she must be capable to identify and offer solutions, to work closely with the customer with a commercial approach and to identify threats, opportunities and risks at an early stage. He / she should also be able to establish and maintain good working relationships with service providers, Project Managers, Top Management and clients.

Proven experience as Project Manager and knowledge of material handling and / or industrial processes are required. Knowledge of AGV systems, preferably in the automotive industry, in a production or warehousing environment is an advantage.

Other typical duties and activities:

  • Resolving contractual and commercial problems;
  • Offering direction and instruction;
  • Risk assessment and mitigation;
  • Ensuring that all stakeholders understand and adhere to contractual obligations;
  • Ensuring that the financial aspects and impact of a contract are clear to all parties;
  • Overseeing financial KPIs.

Customer Focus will be leading in this job. The success of the job lies within the result of the projects and the experiences the customers will get over the course of the project.

  • Flexible in travel distance, travel time and work time
  • Prepare to also travel outside Germany if necessary (even for a few weeks)
  • Excellent skills with MS Office tools and MS Project.
  • Strong numerical and analyticalskills with high attention to detail are required.
  • Strong educational background
  • Certified in project management (IPMA-C, PMP or similar)
  • Technical and commercial insight preferably in AGV systems
  • Being able to work with and manage teams
  • Experiencedwith legal and contractual writing
 
Facilitating characterstics of the function

The employee will be incorporated in the Netherlands and will receive the required courses and trainings to learn further Oceaneering project management methods.

The employee will be using a company car and will receive a mobile phone and laptop and all necessary accessories for a home office.

The OPS PM will report to the Head of PM in the Netherlands and the GM in the German office.
